Pastiche lived up to our expectations tonight and then some...

We made sure to have reservations and were seated promptly. Our waiter was quick to take our drink order and bring us bread, which I'm convinced is straight from Beyond Bread - yum.

I had the pumpkin ravioli with browned butter sauce. It came with the advertised fried sage which consisted of 4 sage leaves. They were good and I would have liked a few more. The ravioli itself had a very subtle taste, as did the browned butter. In all, it was delicious.

One of my companions had the macaroni and cheese. This is one of the few dishes that you can't get in the bistro (small) size and I'm not sure why. This isn't your normal macaroni and cheese. It's made with smoked gouda, white cheddar, bacon and spinach. It's smoky, cheesy and very good. We took a good deal of it home because it was just too much.

My other companion had some sort of cajun pasta dish. It was full of adioulle sausage making it quite spicy.

We all had dessert (carrot cake, bittersweet chocolate tart, and chocolate almond tart) and passed them around. They were all outstanding although we couldn't tell much difference between the chocolate tarts.

We will definitely go back. I love the idea of the smaller plate option as this allows me to leave room for dessert without having to deal with a doggie-bag.
